Fracking then and now
Me and my pals have been supporting fracking from the outset. We have been proved right. Twitter thread from March 2022.
Here’s a film about fracking I made in early 2014 with James Delingpole.
Now that politicians have banned fracking, and are blaming the cost of living crisis and inflation on a 'global gas price spike' it's time to revisit what James said...
Greens are holding back our economy and industry, and Tory politicians are more than simply complicit...
Each & every one of the eight years since has borne out precisely what we were warning against then, and which was plain to many people. We were called 'deniers'.
Energy prices are set to increase by 54%, and then to increase again in the Autumn, and the only solution that the government has is to borrow more.
James, 2014: "The government's search for an end to these problems is growing ever more desperate. But there is a solution to all these problems, and it's right beneath our feet."
No Tory can prove him wrong.
Without the government borrowing a single penny, and without the need for any subsidies, private investment could have been pulling gas out of the ground, lowering energy bills for homes, businesses and industry, and making money for the Treasury.
But Net Zero...
And now this...
James took considerably more flak than I for speaking out.
What a different state of affairs we would be in now, if the Tories had listened to him, rather than the green and covid blobs.
James sets it all out more recently here...
